Lines for a photographer are a very useful composition tool, they can be used to draw the viewers eye to a subject, they can be used to create a sense of motion in a photo and a photographer can even use crossing lines to create tension in an image, making it more interesting for the viewer to look at. Essentially out entire world is made up lines and as photographers we chose how to use those lines to tell our story.
For my image this week I decided since it is October that I would head over to the sim Arranmore and do some shots at the haunted mansion, if you haven’t been over there I highly recommend it Lauren Bentham did a fantastic job and really puts a person in the Halloween spirit! For this shot I placed my subject in the corner of the room so that the lines from the intersecting walls would connect at my subject, drawing the viewers attention to the model. The model is also placed so that the lines from the floor boards and the streams of light coming from the nearby window direct the viewers eye to her and also making it look like she is moving forward, combined with that pose it kind of looks like she is walking out of the room and telling whatever creepy being is in there to “Talk to the hand!”
