This weeks theme was “Negative Space” this is one of those themes that can be taken in multiple different directions depending on how you view it. One could approach is as I did from a composition technique. Wikipedia describes Negative space in art as the space around the subject of an image. Some of those that are doing this challenge along with me chose to view it as showing an actual visual representation of a negative space. One of the things that I love in art is seeing how people can approach one subject and see it so many different ways!
For my photograph this week I went with something that has been bouncing around inside my head for a bit. I like the idea of duality or the concept things that are different but also the same. In life we often have a tendency to look at and analyze the differences in each other so much that we often miss the things that are the same.

Below are some shots from others that are doing the challenge along with me you can view more on our group Flickr page.
Next weeks challenge is “Sky”. As always if anyone wants to join in feel free, if you do decide to join us you can share your work in our Flickr group! A full challenge list can be found here.
